Redhill Nursery is part of Redhill Primary School and opened
in September 2015 (previously a private pre-school)
The Nursery is located in the school grounds to the left of
the main school building.
At Redhill Nursery we provide a nurturing, caring and safe
environment in which children can happily develop and learn to play and work
together. We support our children in acquiring skills and attitudes, through routines
and expectations, which enable them to enjoy their early years and then make a
seamless transition into school.
The Nursery is registered for 37 places at any one given
time. We cater from rising threes’ to
four years of age, fee paying and funded places are available. We offer
flexible sessions and have fee paying, 15 and 30 hour funded places. We work in
partnership with other local pre-school providers ie day- care, childminders
Sessions are 8.40 am – 11.40 am, 8.40-12.40 am , 11.50-2.50
pm or 8.50-2.50 pm.
We offer an attractive learning environment consisting of a
three roomed Nursery, toilets, an office and kitchen. Our outside environment
is attractive and provides many different areas in which to learn through play:
Zone 1: immediately down the ramp from the building, Zone 2: the big playground
with climbing frame and castle , also home to our two hens! Zone 3: the mini
forest area running alongside the Nursery building , the garden and bird areas,
the sensory garden , the pond area and the forest school area. All areas are secure.
We have the expertise of Redhill Primary School Deputy Head
who is an Early Years specialist and is also the Nursery Manager, who plans our
Pre-School Curriculum through the Foundation Stage and Early Learning Goals.
The experienced Foundation Stage Co-ordinator supports the team too which aids
transition into school too. We have an
experienced Nursery Senior Leader who plans activities for the Rising Threes
and some areas of the EYFS curriculum, is a key worker and attends all Redhill Primary
Staff meetings. We have an additional two experienced Nursery Assistants who
are key workers, a support TA, every afternoon, and a part-time administrator.
All the Nursery team attend whole school training and events. As a Nursery we use the school facilities as
often as possible eg PE in the hall, Singing assembly , joining Yr R and KS1 assemblies and enjoying
the hot school dinners!
The Nursery opens at 8:40 a.m. and closes at 2:50 p.m.
Monday to Friday each week in term time. It is open during term time except for
Statutory (Bank) Holidays. Exact dates are published in the school calendar
each year. We close for 3 staff training days over the school year.
Nursery bookings are term time only for Rising 3-4 year olds.
We offer 38 weeks a year.
Once an ‘Expression of interest form’ is completed your
child‘s name will be put on a waiting list and you will be contacted in the term
prior to start date and offered available sessions, with an induction programme
to help your child settle more easily.
The Manager and Administrator endeavour to accommodate as many of the requested
sessions per child, as possible, but there is no guarantee we can support every
parents ideal sessions. (See Admissions policy) Our close partnership with
other pre-school providers is often a solution to this problem.
The cost of a school dinner is currently £2.10. The children
have water with their lunch.
This must be booked and paid for one week in advance.
Please make staff aware of any absences due to holidays or
Please can you provide a change of clothes in a named draw
string bag which can be left on your child’s peg as children sometimes have a
toilet accident or need a change of clothing when participating in messy activities ,often preferring their own
clothes to those provided by Nursery.
Please park safely.
You can read our policies on the Nursery page and School
We produce a Nursery newsletter, about once every three
weeks, or more often if needed.
